Assessment & Referral
There are a number of EAP models, depending on what your company has
chosen. Please check with your brochure or Human Resource department
to find out the specifics of your eligibility, how to access your
services, and the number of sessions provided.
The assessment helps determine the nature and extent of the problem
or issues. From that, a recommendation for resolution will be made
and viable options to appropriate resources will be presented.
The EAP counselor has access to a variety of helping resources based
on experience, knowledge, networking and research. Cheryl Cohen and
Associates receives no
financial or other remuneration from any resource. When applicable,
referrals are made to providers covered under the employee's medical
insurance.

Employee Orientation
A key element of the EAP is orienting employees and families to the
program, in regards to how it works, how to use it, and how confidential it
is.

Supervisor Training
CCA has the expertise to conduct onsite supervisor trainings which
include Power Point and video presentations, discussions, and case
examples. The sessions outline the purpose of the EAP, explain how
supervisors can optimize its use, and train supervisors to identify
problem employees and refer them to the EAP. The possibility of
losing a job can be a strong motivational factor in getting troubled
employees to access available help. Initial training of all
supervisors is recommended and subsequent review training is
offered.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
In the event of a trauma or crisis within an organization (an
industrial accident, death of an employee, or an event outside the
organization which impacts employees, such as an earthquake, or acts
of violence), CCA is prepared to offer Group Stress Debriefings.
Counselors with special training in this area are sent onsite to
work with the organization to develop appropriate strategies.
